does anyone know how to make a flash banner with sound?, seems to me everyone has one.

Most of them are made in Swish, or SwishMax, Bob.  You can add a sound file as a roll on / roll off, or one you have to click on, but bear in mind the file size.  Anything too large will play havoc with people without broadband, and won't do your popularity rating any favours!   ;)
