Nothing wrong with that system, now I'll take a guess, it was bought somewhere like PC World, Curry's or Comet. It's made by a big volume box shifter.
Celeron is Intels budget chip designed for basic needs computing
see here it costs £72 better to have gone the AMD XP2600+ route at £68
see hereIn the memory department it is upgradable to 1GB memory capacity, however the cheap skate maker has put 256KB memory in it instead of a 512KB memory module. So you either dump your paid for 256Kb or settle for a max 768Kb upgrade, instead of just adding another 512kb module to make 1GB.
Plus the cheap skate maker is using 64KB of your 256KB memory by using onboard graphics. Better systems have seperate graphics cards, latest Motherboards have 8xAGP. Another pointer to a cheap system is the fact that it only has three PCI expansion slots, and one of those is taken up with your modem, so really you only have two.
Is it a DVD/CD-RW combo not seperate drives? another cheapskate way of keeping costs down. And last but not least it is a 5400rpm Hard Drive as against the norm being the 7200rpm drives......
Having said that, I bet loads of people would love to have that system..............I hope you do not think bad of me....but you did ask
