Car Insurance

here's a good Car Insurance  quote site http://www.cost2insure.co.uk/car_ins_basics.html

You can chose from a massive list if you want, I tried that at first:
"Direct Line" quoted £246
"MoreThan" quoted £206

Then I tried the "Instant Quote" button on the home page, it did a search and came up with "Fortis" quoted £178

Now considering that was a like for like policy I was being quoted by my present insurer Zurich via a broker at £265, I reckon thats a good deal. Fully Com, Legal Protection, No Claims Protected, with a £100 access.

I could knock another £12 off if I ditched the No Claims Protected. The days when I used to stick with the same insurance company are long gone. And every quote you do online always ask for your claims history to base their quote on. It means Jack Sheet to them, regards their risk assesment of you, wither you have No Claims protected Insurance when they quote you.

Edit:

Differance between having legal cover or not was a £1 beleive it or not. Just one point, the company offering the Fortis quote in my case was
http://www.its4me.co.uk/ and they charge £6.95 for proccessing the policy.

Fortunately for myself, the vehicles I drive are insured through the company, so I don't have to deal with car insurance on a personal level.  However, if I did, I might be a little cautious choosing the lowest possible quote, from an unfamiliar company.  Yer gets what yer pays for in this life, and what's stopping a small company going belly up, just when you prang your new motor!

I think that the government charges a levy on each insurance company so that you would still be covered in case that company got into financial difficulties.
The days of the fly by night insurances are gone I think so you will be safe with any of the legalised robbery insurance companies now Simon  :)
