Logitech messenger error
« on: April 16, 2004, 15:47 »
:o

After I boot up an error message box pops up saying there is an error "Logitech Desktop Messenger.lnk" shortcut is unavailable or not found. How do I get rid of this? My mouse is working fine.

Thank you.

Hi Jiml and :welcome:

From what I can find out about that file, its installed as part of your mouse software that checks for updates and isnt really essential to run your mouse or pc.

Depending which OS you are using, get the MSCONFIG screen up and simply untick it to stop it trying to load it as your pc boots up, dont forget to click on apply, then it will ask you to reboot for it to take effect  :)

Thank you Sandra. I am running WIN2K. Not sure where to find MSCONFIG screen you are refering to. Is this on the control panel some where?

Thanks again.

Hi Jim..in Sandra's abscence may I point you in the right direction.

Go to Start/Run/ type in msconfig and return/enter then have a look in the start up files, once you have ticked the box you want it will then tell you what to do from there on.
