Keystroke/Web activity monitor????
« on: May 03, 2004, 16:52 »
Hey,

Looking for some help here. I need to know if it is possible to retrive keystroke activity records from PC's. If so how? Or maybe it is possible to retrieve activity records such as when the PC is switched on or off etc?

I need to know to do some personal private detective work!

Thanks!!!  :D

Chris.

The system event log should give you some indication of when the machine is switched on or off.  This can be found in Accessories/Administrative Tools/Event Viewer/System.

The Internet History should be able to tell you which sites have been visited, but I think you may have to go elsewhere to find out about keyloggers!  Maybe someone else will comment later.

Keyloggers are available from many of the usual download sites.  Have a look here.   :)

thanks,

i tried the administrative tools log thing but the data doesnt seem to bring me to any conclusion...and for the keylogger thing to be useful to me it needs to be able to tell me past records, which i don't think any of the available software can.

thanks.

This does exactly what you are after but it isnt cheap  :o

http://www.winspy.com

A friend of mine was amazed to see that it even recorded his details when he logged onto his bank account on another friends pc in what he thought was a secure way.
The password wasnt entered by keystrokes but by selecting specific letters from a drop down menu which he thought would fool key logging software, this program can be set to take screenshots at time intervals that you set yourself, along with logging all keystrokes  :)
