Hi All
No reply from Norton at all.
It,s not just the firewall that causes me problems. I have my
Norton automatic updates turned off. This is because if it's
left on it will again download the problem file. So I have no
virus updates for a couple of weeks now. This makes both my Norton products, firewall and anti virus out of date.
It's a file about redirection that causes the firewall problem.
I still have 6 months of my Norton update subscription left.
Been on the net looking out on forums for this problem. Seen a
so called experts and network adminstrators board with the same
internet accesss and Norton problem on it. Norton must know by now?

Hi JK,

Can you remind us which version of Norton you are using?  If it's 2002, I believe they have now withdrawn support for that version, but they don't think to tell people that when they renew their subscriptions.   :(

The problem, as you rightly say, is that without those vital Live Updates, you could be leaving yourself vulnerable.  On the other side of the coin, if you are not doing the Live Updates, how would you know if there is now a fix to your problem?   :-\

As I have suggested before, the subscriptions are for the Anti Virus definitions, yes?  So, as the problem seems to be with the Firewall why not keep NAV, and just change the Firewall for something else, such as Sygate?

Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:
