Topic: Easily Disable Messenger

Go into: C:/Program Files/Messenger. Rename the Messenger folder to  "MessengerOFF".

This does not slow down Outlook Express or hinder system performance.


I haven't tried it yet guys. Not sure if it works. If someone is interested in it, he/she can try it personally.

Worth a look "Shoot The Messenger" and "UnPlug n' Pray" are two little utilities that I have downloaded. They allow you to quickly and easily Enable /Disable MS Messenger and Plug and Play.

Far easier to dump it and use Yahoo Messenger instead.  It's much much better and behaves itself!

Better still not to have a messenger program on your PC, that way it saves you having to waste time on ideal gossip.
