Cannot run set up
« on: October 28, 2004, 20:43 »
Okay its me again !!  Not my puter this time though.

My bloke was installing his PDA on his own computer, after having it installed on mine and all being well. And he installed the PDA and outlook etc etc. And when he went to install the GPS (tomtom navigator 3) it wouldn't set up.

Auto run starts and then goes off and it just comes up with a message that says
Error.... cannot run setup.
No numbers thats it!

I've searched all day,  and I can't find whats it all about!

We moved the set up folder to see if that might work and it came up with c:###£/setup/setup.ini missing or invalid. But going just for the CD it just says Error cannot run set up.

Pleeeease help, am going out of my mind on this one  ??? :o ;D

Sorry Michelle, I have never used a PDA, although I have seen the Tom Tom 3 Navigator, as a friend has bought the stand alone model.
I wouldnt advise moving a folder after something has installed itself there as windows wont be able to find where its gone to.
I would uninstall it all and start afresh and if the setup wont auto run this time, try exploring the installation cd and installing from the setup file on there.
If it still cant find the .ini file you may be able to browse the cd or your hard drive for it yourself  ???

Michelle,

You told that you've searched all the day to find a solution.

Probably you've passed by PDA forums then. If not, I think that it's the best place to search in.

Thanks for the help sandra, but I have tried that and it still wont set up. Its like there's something wrong with the disc, but there isn't as it starts in mine, I wondered if it wasn't compatable with 98 but it says it is.

Thanks Joudi I'll have another look.
