ATI AIW Rage 128 Pro
« on: October 31, 2004, 21:29 »
Hi
I am using an old video card. Only 16Meg of memory.
My system is running Windows ME. When Windows is loading I get the error message ATIPTAAA.EXE not found. When cancelled, and the system starts all is ok. If I look into Windows device's I see two problems with the video card. Both with the yellow outline and the !. ATITuneP, WDM TV Tuner and Bt829Pro, WDM Caputure for AIW Pro. Any help would be very appricated.

Try getting the drivers from here :

http://www.ati.com/support/products/pc/rage128pro/winme/rage128prowinmedrivers.html?type=me&prodType=mm&prod=aiwME98driver&submit.x=10&submit.y=7

That should cure it, you may want to look at the bit below the main driver too,
"Alternate Driver for Video For Windows Support
If you are using an ALL-IN-WONDER or VIVO configuration and require Video For Windows capture support an alternate driver/software combination is required."

Hope one or the other sorts it for you  :)

Thank you Sandra for your kind reply.
The ATI site does not make it clear if you should use the ATI driver or the Windows ME one. The card is an AIW model. The TV, teletext and video caputure does not work until I sort out the problem.Looking at the ATI help section the two yellowed and !parts on my device manager do not match the combinations shown in the support section. Also the card predates Windows ME and
would normally use Windows 98 drivers. I have the most upto date
ATI driver on my system. I want to get rid of the error message
and the problem ! items. I have had the idea put to me of removing all files relating to ATI from my system before a clean reinstall.
Kind Regards. ???

Did you try the alternative driver mentioned on that link ?
I would have thought that that would be the one to go for  ???
