Windows 98 - Internet Explorer
« on: November 01, 2004, 18:18 »
Hi

I have a PC thats running windows 98 (I know - but i can't change it due to it being a business PC).

Anyway I need to know what is the highest version of Internet Explorer I could use on it.

It is currently running IE5.00 - Could I go up to V6?

Also where can I download a copy of the older browsers from?

Thanks

DJ

I used to run IE6 on Win 98 so there is no problem with that.

You didn't specify which browsers you were referring to but you can get some dinosaurs from:

http://browsers.evolt.org/

and

http://www.skyzyx.com/downloads/

Thanks Clive,

I was referring to IE.

I will try to install IE6 on the PC tomorrow.

Try www.oldversion.com DJ   :)

Old Versions Available

Internet Explorer 1.0 (1.1 MB)
Internet Explorer 2.0 (1.2 MB)
Internet Explorer 3.02 (Win95) (10.6 MB)
Internet Explorer 3.02 (WinNT) (8.7 MB)

You would probably have to get 5 and 5.5 off a 98 or 98se cd as I think those two versions were the ones that shipped with 98 and 98se originally. :doggie:
