USB2 PCI card
« on: November 20, 2004, 12:07 »
G'day all

i've reached the conclusion that i really need usb2.  i tried a card a while back but the drivers that came with the card screwed my system up and i gave up in the end.

My question is, if i'm running XP SP1 should it have the required generic drivers on it enabling the card to be plugged in and detected without dedicated drivers.  My mobo is 3 and a half years old and only has a couple of usb1 ports.   :P

ps i seem to have changed sex  :o

I think it would depend on the age of the USB 2 card Dave. If it was a popular one and came out before SP1 did then it would possibly have had the drivers but as SP1 has been out for a while maybe it wouldnt have. SP2 may have them as its a more recent thing.

I sorted your little problem out Davina, I hope that it didnt hurt you too much, I think that you should change your name to something more appropriate like Dave   ;)

By the way your D.O.B. is down as 1/1/1836 making you the worlds oldest ever person I think at 168 years old  ;D ;D ;D
