Firefox downloads problems
« on: January 08, 2005, 01:45 »
Yes, using Firefox has greatly eliminated the viruses, pop-ups etc. However I find the download manager window appearing after each download irritating and unnecessary. How can I turn this off?

Also each video clip I download plays auto, but after that I am not able to locate it anymore in the folder it was downloaded to. Error message- 'the file was moved or altered' - something I didn't do. Happens everytime.

Help please?

TIA

Hiya,

On the top Toolbar go to.....Tools > Options > Downloads > you can then set your preferances how you want them.

Regards the other issue, as I don't know off hand the answer to that one, and what with it being Saturday and cannot be arsed to figure it out ;)

Why not try the Firefox Support Forum http://forums.mozillazine.org/viewforum.php?f=38 I once had a question....got it answered in four mins flat.....those geeks are well keen  ;D

if i understand you correctly, you're clicking open instead of save. when you do that the file is downloaded to a temporary folder, and will eventually be deleted by firefox.
