Large Icons on Links Toolbar in IE?
« on: April 12, 2005, 17:25 »
Hi, I want my Links toolbar to have the same options as the Standard Buttons toolbar. I want large icons, and no text. This image here shows what I have now; the links toolbar only seems to allow small icons, and I am forced to use text, (which I have shortened to one or two letters)

Any ideas how I can make the icons larger at least? Thanks

me neither. I see a lot of "custom toolbars" but they are all like Yahoos' or Googles'; not really what I'm after. I thought about creating a framed webpage with my links at the top, but that won't work for sites that open in a new window. I don't think there is anything I can do.

For the most part I have an efficient system; I search all my favorite sites from the address bar, enabled by some code that edited the registry, (but I forget the site that has the code generator)  For example, if I want to search Amazon I just type the letter "a" with a space bar then the search string.

Then I have my favorite links as shown in the picture. Plus, I have customized links on my homepage that allow me to open multiple pages at once. Say, for example, I want to open UK news sites, I just click on link and about 15 UK newspaper sites open in separate windows.

I spend hours trying to figure out how to save a few seconds!

It's IE's Links Toolbar, but those are my icons. I right clicked on the links, hit properties, and changed the icons. I just set them and have no idea if they'll stay when I reboot. I hear sometimes they end up in temporary folders and windows occasionally deletes them and replace with them with the standard HTML icon.
