Hotmail loggin in problem
« on: May 14, 2005, 20:45 »
I'm able to login in to hotmail on my home computer, each time i login the white browser page loads saying ' the page cannot be displayed'.

However other people using the same computer can login to hotmail and i can also login into at work.

I've deleted all history and temporary files and still haven't had any luck
can anyone help??

Hi.

This does seem strange, and I won't pretend to know the answer to your problem.  Have you tried deleting all your Cookies, or at least deleting those with MSN or Hotmail in the name?

In the meantime, it might help if you could let us know what operating system (Windows version) you are using and which browser you use to try and access the site.  A few weeks' ago, a family member had problems accessing a trading site, so I installed Firefox and he can get on it without any problem at all using that browser.  However, using Internet Explorer he too gets "The Page Cannot Be Displayed".

Many people have had difficulty in accessing hotmail during the past few days so you are not alone dnf.  Most have found that it has come back by itself after a day or so.  If others can access it on the same machine I can't see that it can be anything to do with firewalls etc.

Unfortunately, I don't have really much thing to help.

Your problem seem to me very bizarre !     :?

You probably tried to disconnect Hotmail user, and after that reconnect, using your password. If not, you may try it.    :)

Another idea:  Did you make recently any keyboard configuration, (maybe to another language or country), which might apply another password while you're hitting yours?

Are you using one or some keys in the numbers part in your password?  If yes, you may need to have a look on "Lock Numbers" key to put it on! (I mean to see its' light on, on the keyboard.

Well, apart of that, I don't have any other thought.  Sorry !    :(

Maybe some others will be able to direct you to a better eventuality.

I can't pretend to know anything much about user settings, but as you have said other people use your machine, is it set up with different user logins?  Maybe there is something different about your user settings?  Something to do with the Firewall, perhaps, or Internet Explorer settings?  Have you tried with a different browser, such as Firefox or Mozilla?  Otherwise, I would be inclined to agree with Clive, in that you've just been unlucky, and it will be OK tomorrow.

By searching the net, I found this little program which solved the problem of some who have the same problem. Go and get it there: (It's called: "HotMail Login Fixer")

Good luck !    :)
