Indeed!  Isn't there enough of the rubbish on TV, without having it infest your computer as well?

Well Simon, remember it's Michelle we're talking about here and Sandra is inferring that she has the attention span of a Goldfish.

oi you lot !

You'll be pleased to hear - (or not)  I got the soundcard so thats fine and dandy - I've set up the network again, that was easy now I know the aol work around.

but I can't find the video controller drivers - I'm assuming thats why I have a yellow exclaimation mark in device driver and I'm also assuming that I should be looking for the driver for the

256mb ati x800xl pci express - thats the video controller isn't it?

I don't notice much wrong yet though apart from when I'm scrolling its delayed, although I haven't tried to play any games yet.

Firstly am I looking for the right thing and if so can anyone tell me where to find it please ?

there are other things I think I need but I'll do this one first  :)

 :?

ps it wasn't big brother as I set that up on the other computer when this one went down and its been fine

You might want to wait for someone else to check, but I think you'll find what you need here, Michelle:-

One tip that may be useful for others sometime is :

If a pc is running but you want to replace the OS for whatever reason, its always a good idea to open the Device Manager and write down the information for each type of device that you will need to reinstall the drivers for.
These would incude such things as :

Display adapter/ GFX card

Modem

Sound Card

Ethernet Controller

Printers

Scanners

Cameras

In fact anything thats in the list, as a few minutes spent before wiping the drive can save many frustrating hours of searching later   :)
