Hi All,

I have a family movie that I want to send out to family members in Australia (I think its Region 4 out there).

I am using Uleads MovieFactory 3 to record the DVD, but how do I ensure the DVD is region 4?

Is it a software issue or a hardware issue. I have seen you can change the DVD region of the DVD drive through the Contol Panel - but does this affect recording or just playback?

That was easy then!

The version I have is 2.5se - I've just noticed - is that still ok?

I was going to try and make it a VCD but the video is too long.

I dont think that any DVD creation programs have ever made a DVD a specific region.
The regional DVD thing is just a way that the film producers can make more money by selling the different regions at different prices so that they can carry on calling us Rip Off Britain

Even programs similar to DVD shrink that will enable you to copy any DVDs from any region that your pc will read and make them fit on a standard 4.7gig DVD come out as region free

I think more to the point is whether it's PAL or NTSC encoded. You're OK with Australia, as they are PAL, the same as us, but if you were sending to Asia or the US, they might have a problem playing it, as they are NTSC.
