BT's TV service that combines digital terrestrial TV with on-demand film, TV and music programming, will launch in October.
BT Broadband customers can register to get information on the service, called BT Vision.
BT Vision will be available via a set-top box called BT Hub, which also offers wireless networking for PCs.
The company has signed several deals with content developers including BBC Worldwide, Paramount, National Geographic channel and Endemol.
Dan Marks, chief executive of TV services, said: ?BT Vision will be offered nationwide and will be not restricted to metropolitan areas and, as with Freeview, there will be no mandatory subscription.?
