Yahoo UK has announced the start of a beta test of a new version of Yahoo Mail that is faster and behaves like a desktop mail client.
In the coming weeks, Yahoo users will be asked if they want to try the new version, which features drag and drop email organisation, message preview and an integrated RSS reader.
Like the current Yahoo Mail, the new version is free and browser-based, making it accessible from any computer connected to the internet, without the need for a software download.
Beta testers will also be able to toggle between the different versions of Yahoo Mail in order to try the new interface.
The beta is already being tested by US Yahoo Mail users. Today the testing was extended to the United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France and Korea.
The new version is available on Firefox for Mac and Windows and Internet Explorer (Windows only).
