Anyone know of any MBR backup and restore utility that can be used from inside windows? If someone does i would appreciate it.

Dont know of one off hand Bob and cant think how theyd do a restore, maybe a backup for restoring from a floppy is possible though :?

I only know of
Active Partition Recovery
which is a DOS program. Sorry :? .

I did a little digging on google and found one on this page.
here
The MBRUtil.exe utility saves it from inside windows. Im not going to test restoring it on this machine. Ill test it on a spare machine in the other room. When you install linux and dual boot it with your windows installation. Either lilo or grub edits the mbr and puts a redirect to another file which gives you a choice of where to go next. Being able to undo the dual boot makes life easier if i decide i want things back the way they were.
