I've just had a new graphics card fitted by a qualified engineer (presumed)
He was in my house all of 10 mins. Told me everything was fine and all was working correctly.
After he's gone I decided to check which card he had fitted as he said it was a more uptodate one.
In device manager no card was showing. The idiot had not installed any drivers for the new card. I had to open up machine get the name and version, phone Medion as I couldn't find the appropriate driver.
After over an hour on the phone I was able to download the correct driver and install it. I tried reporting the repair company to Medion, who informed me that the engineer's job is to install hardware but no software. I said only an idiot would fit a new piece of hardware and not install the appropriate drivers or tell the customer where to obtain them and how to install them.
As I said to the Medion bloke, what about people who are not pc literate, how do they know what they should do. The idiot had just put in generic drivers so I wasn't getting the use of the card he had installed.
I have reported him to Aldi and to Medion. It might help other customers who are in need of repairs to their pc's.
