G'day all.  I've seen a few dvd players that claim to play the divx format, are there any that will play WMV or even AVI files ??? I bet Sandra already has one that plays beer mats  :D

The Yamada mpeg 4 ones play Divx, Xvid and a lot of AVI files.
I cant remember if I played any .wmv ones when I had mine.
They wont play real media or quicktime but work with virtually any form of mpeg 1, 2 and 4 plus mp3s.

Lona still has one so maybe she can try a .wmv for you  :)

I never did get mine to play beer mats, maybe it was the beer stains on them that prevented them being read properly

I know that this might seem incredible, but the cheaper a dvd player is, then it appears to be compatible with more file types than a more expensive player.  A friend of mine bought one for £17.99 from Tesco and it plays anything!
