I'm off to buy a new slave (ide) drive. Currently running xp pro SP1 on the pc. should this be able to recognise >137gb or is it also down to the individual bios on the machine ? i can get an oem 250gb for the same price as an 80gb

I think it was SP2 that removed the limit but a 250 gig will still be seen by SP1 but only as 137 gig so I would go for the 250 gig drive so you have the extra capacity when you upgrade to SP2 later.
