If its a registry error Jim, try running SFC /SCANNOW from the Start/Run part.
You will need to have your XP cd in the CD/DVD drive for it to repair or replace missing or damaged files from.

That may fix it without needing to reinstall the OS

It could be caused by bad memory, which can be tested using "Memtest".

Have a look at this article from Microsoft and see if you can fix it following its instructions, otherwise its a wipe and reinstall job :

Hi Jim, been away for a few days and only just got back home and online.

I hadnt studied the article fully when I posted eeh link but quickly reading through it now it seems strange that the early part is talking about using regedit to find and delete files then its saying to use the CMD prompt and commands to delete files.
I would have thought that regedit alone would have been sufficient  :-\

Also once the first lot of files have been deleted from the registry then thats possibly removed the ones that the CMD prompt cant find.

Did you try the removal tool option first ?

Are you still getting the blue screens ?

Hi, Sandra yes used the auto removal tool first, showed no infected files ,then as you can see used the manual method ,beginning to think it must be a Driver problem ,but all Drivers stated as running correctly ,looking like I'll have to re-install next time I see a BLUE screen ....Jim

Looks like you are going to have to format and reinstall your OS if it gets to the point where its getting to be too annoying or troublesome Jim  :(
