I have just replaced a dead motherboard from an 18 month old pc bought
from the "IT Warehouse" the pc box has the OEM COA sticker on it i have the
genuine OEM XP cd with it. Not surprising i could not boot into windows when
i finished the motherboard install so i did a repair install when that was all loaded i had a hardware changed message come on, which told me i had 3
days to activate windows

. I phoned Microsoft support the support
bloke was an Indian with a strong Indian accent he started going through
with the activation process then he said it could not be activated he would not
tell me why , all he would say was go see the vendor from where the pc was
purchased Now IT Warehouse only give a 12 month warranty, so in the end i
just backed up some stuff off the pc then did a format & install with another version of XP. Either IT warehouse have used this COA on another pc or Microsoft are just being pr**ks!!. a 2 hour job turned into a 4 hour job.
