I downloaded ICQ, Napster, Firefox, Winzip, iTunes, Ad-Aware, Skype, Real Player and Acrobat.  Oh it would have been easier to say I didn't download Winamp!   ;D

I didn't download ICQ, Napster, iTunes or Skype.  The rest I did, and still have.

I downloaded just about everything on there with the exception of icq and real. Everything else i either downloaded for customers, family or myself.

The guy that invented real should be shot in the face.

There's nothing wrong with Acrobat, apart from the updates being huge downloads, for basically one function, to open .pdf files.  I have Real, like most, because I have to, but it can be easily tamed not to be obtrusive, and only pop up when required.  Once you've turned off all the messages, auto updates, etc, it's no different to any other media player.

To Sam, Simon and anyone else who thinks that they have to use Real Player (also Quicktime) along with all the garbage they bring with them and which try to take over your pc.

Do a search for Real Alternative and Quick Alternative.

They are both free and install the necessary codecs to be able to run all your RM and MOV files, along with windows classic movie player.

All your audio and video files in those formats will now play in most of your preferred players  :)

I don't have a problem with either of them, but those alternatives are worth knowing Sandra.  :)

I also use video lan as my main video player.
It seems to handle 5.1 audio better than a lot of other players and has a nice straightforward uncluttered layout.

It seems when ever I use it which isn't often, it tells me it needs to update or it starts to open and then hangs.  :dunno:
