Add/remove programs
« on: March 17, 2007, 23:53 »
Hi
I installed an e-mail client which I tried out but did not like. Now I am unable to remove it as the remove program function in windows just causes the pc to lock up. I do not know if this is a problem with the software or a windows problem, as I have no other programs I wish to remove to test this out. The software appears to have no uninstall function within its self. Which most good software has.
Looking forward to your advice. :-\

Which email client is it?  There may be an uninstaller available.

You could also try CCleaner (http://www.ccleaner.com/) which has a decent uninstaller function in it.

Hi Sandra
Thank you , I removed the software ok in safe mode. I do not know if it was the software or windows that was the cause. I will have to try to install something, just to see if I can remove it.
Thanks also to Simon and DJ.

I expect that the software was running in the background somewhere and that would stop windows being able to remove it.
It wouldnt have loaded in safe mode so that will be why it could be removed.
