Hello Everyone,
I have been sent an email form Windows Advisor, with a FREE 6 weeks trial, which helps you tidy up your computer make it run faster, after that it is a one time payment of £15 with tech suport ect, just wanted to know if any one else has used it and if so what do you think of it. 
I might just take the 6 week offer and try it, but it's nice to have input off others

I haven't used it myself but I'm always wary of offers like that as you may end up with a load of spyware on your computer.  I've had a quick search and I can't find anything bad about it but why not wait to see if Simon has heard anything before you commit yourself?

I have taken a look at their website and it doesn't look the most clear.. http://www.windowsadvisor.co.uk/ (same thing we are talking about here?)

I would suggest that  you would be better with out... do you currently have any issues or are you just trying to keep your computer in top condition.. if its either of those two then maybe we can advise.

There are a number of free programs out there that help with the process of keeping your machine ticking over nicely.

there are a few... this is normally when Simon will fire a bunch of them off at you, so I will let him do that - we all know he does enjoy it! 

First thing: do you have any of these items:

Antivirus Software
Firewall Software
Spyware Software
A good web browser (in my opinion IE is crap and full of holes)

If not then lets start with those.... dont worry they are all free and easy to get / use.

Hi Kaz,

To be honest, it seems you are well protected as it is, and there is a danger of overkill by adding more and more utilities that basically do the same job as each other.

Depending on how you use your computer, it shouldn't really become encumbered with rubbish, but if you want a clean up utility, I would recommend CCleaner, which I use about once a month.  If you haven't already, I would also strongly recommend switching to a browser other than Internet Explorer, and would recommend Firefox as a stand alone browser, or SeaMonkey as an all in one browser / email suite, links to both of which can be found in my sig below.

As far as Windows Advisor goes, it does look a bit gimmicky to me, and personally, I would avoid it myself, as it probably doesn't do anything that special.

I do use Firefox, and yes I think im all ok with protecton, and dont want to over do things so thanks for all your input
my worry is now my network
