Internet Connection Icon

Why is it that with some firewalls the Internet Connection Icon in the System Tray does not show?

When running with only the Windows Firewall, I have two icons showing-Internet and LAN. Whenever I try running a third party firewall the Internet one disappears. Any way over this?
