Like you, Sandra, most people only ever scratch the surface of these graphics programs. They don't really need anything sophisticated but they feel that having a more powerful program will make them better graphics designers. Some open source graphics programs such as Inkscape and the Gimp (which aren't listed on that link

) are quite capable of competing with the likes of Corel X3 and Photoshop. Ultimately, however, there's no substitute for talent.
