I've hitherto used a BT105 Voyager USB modem which was supplied by my ISP, AOL. However, my main computer has given up the ghost and I've had to get a new one, loaded with Vista. Expect lots of questions from me
!
Believe it or not, Vista won't connect to the internet through AOL's USB modem. I checked AOL's help pages and found that their advice is... buy another modem. I've been with AOL for 7 years so I wasn't happy. Anyway, my hubby has a mobile phone from O2 and I found today that if I swap to their ISP I'll get a current customer discount. This means unlimited downloads, up to 8 meg download speed and only £7.50 per month with a free Vista/XP router capable of supporting 3 computers. That's opposed to AOLs modem which supports one XP computer at up to 2 meg download speed and costs £17.50 per month.
I guess the moral of the story is, don't upset loyal customers!
