lost sound when making dvd
« on: January 24, 2008, 17:05 »
I have suddenly lost the sound when making a dvd from a recorded tv program.  I'm pretty sure its not the burning software as I have tried burning with Easy media creator 10 and ConvertXtoDvd.   The picture quality is exellent but no sound.
If I play the files on computer before burning everything appears ok.  This has suddenly happened and I've burnt dozens of dvd before with no problem. has anybody any ideas as to what might be causing this problem
many thanks for any help.

That's odd, and I don't really have any ideas, but I didn't want you to think you were being ignored.   :)

Just one thing, do you have another DVD Writer you could try, in case it's a hardware problem?  Have you tried burning any other formats, such as a CD?

Oh, one other thing, have you tried playing a burned DVD on another player, in case it's the media player on your PC playing up?
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:

Sometimes media files are encoded using obscure audio codecs that aren't supported by your copy programs. Try installing ffdshow here and try it again.

If that doesn't work you might try converting the file to a different format and then trying to burn it.

use GSpot to get some info about your source file and post it here, if the above solutions havnt worked (ffshow will most likely fix it tbh)
