Very happy memories!  I bought a 5.25" external disc drive and a dot matrix printer for mine.  I think the printer cartridges were similar to typewriter ribbons which you could rewind and use a second time to save money.  I even had a matching teletext adaptor to keep up with the latest news.

Well, I had dual floppies, a 10MB HD (no, I haven't got the units wrong), a teletext adapter, a 6502 and a Z80 second processor, and an Epson dot-matrix printer. I also had a modem connected to the serial port - so connectivity was definitely an early thing for me. Oh, and I had a ROM extension board fitted too.

I think I'm too young to have used a Beeb.

Gosh Rik.  Your system must have been the DB's.  I might also have had the ROM extension board if that's where View (the wordprocessor) was stored.  But my beeb was the posh Master 128 so perhaps it was built in.

I had the original B, and added everything else. It helped that I worked with Computer Concepts, testing their range of 'office suite' programs, and also did freelance work for Acorn. The HD, btw, cost £300 for 10MB, these youngsters don't know they're born.

Wait!  My beeb was a 512K.  10Mb - what would anyone possibly need all that space for?     I can't remember how much the beebs cost when they were new.
