Topic: SP3 How do you know when you have got it?

How do you know when SP3 has downloaded I have Updates set to automatic so how will I know when or if I have already downloaded this?

Go into Windows Updates via Start/All Programs and under Options on the left side of the screen you will see "Review Windows Updates".  Click on it and it will tell you if you have  installed it.

Right click on my computer and go to properties and it will tell you there also. If it says service pack 2 or below you don't have sp3 installed.

Use Reno's method above.  It's easier!

Just open My Documents, go to Help > About Windows and it will tell you there too.

Got it I'm still on SP2 oh well will have to wait I surpose thanks for the help again people

You should be able to get it by visiting Windows Update, Kaz.

  It's not that bad, Dave, at least, it seems to work OK on mine.

Dave is correct.  I've just carried out a Google search and the issues with SP3 have not been resolved.  Some (like Simon) get away with it whereas others end up with a computer that re-boots itself in an endless loop.

Ah, I thought that only happened with a certain type of AMD machine, but as mine is Intel, I think I was fairly safe.

I used Windows Updates to get it, Kaz, but as Clive said, if you have an AMD machine, you may want to hold fire on it.
