You couldn't make it up, could you?  Pick the films released over the last twelve months which have made their audiences squirm with embarrassment more than any others at the poor quality of the offerings, then give them awards for it:

My mother wanted to go and see Mama Mia while I was up there, but when I went to start the car, it was dead. Thank goodness!

I saw the stage show in London a few years ago and it was utter crap.  But there again, the Mousetrap has been running for 50 years and I have never been so bored in all my life!

I guess it comes down to personal taste, I don't particularly like musicals. Well that's not entirely true, I hate them. Didn't mind Rocky Horror, or even Godspell, can't think of any others.

Oh, and I did go to see Cats, quite liked that.......... obviously.

I usually quite enjoy musicals and I've seen all the ones you mentioned.  I particularly enjoyed Evita, Phantom, Les Miserables, Chess, Grease, Buddy and Miss Saigon.

I would be interested in seeing Evita. Haven't been to the theatre in years and I really miss it.

I enjoyed the TV mini series of Les Miserables, with Gérard Depardieu and John Malkovich.

Has anyone seen the Johnny Depp version of Sweeny Todd?  I bought the DVD, but at the time, didn't realise it was a musical, so have so far not been that enthusiastic about watching it, as I also hate them.

The only musical I have seen was Joseph last year,my daughter was in it after winning a BBC comp with her friends...but wouldnt have gone otherwise..........The last film saw was Cars With the children again,and before this Get Carter.......I actually showed that film in a cinema in Brighton many years ago..........................so I cant comment on any of this but thought I woud have a ramble anyway just to let you know Im still alive

yeah, I've seen it. Not the best film I've ever seen and definitely not the best adaptation of Sweeny Todd.. but still its pretty good - especially considering it is a musical and I normally don't like them at all. Johnny Depp actually does it quite well.

I adore the old Fred Astaire musicals!  The plots may have been flimsier than 'Crossroads' scenery but that doesn't matter at all.  Astaaire's films were never about the plot.  'Grease' notwithstanding, I'm not too keen on musicals.  I cringed through 'Chicago' and couldn't even bring myself to watch 'Moulin Rouge'.

You're the only other person I know who's seen Secret Window!  I thought it was quite good too.

I'd forgotten about those movies, I was thinking more along the lines of South Pacific, Oklahoma, Showboat and such.    Having to sit through Mary Poppins and My fair Lady when I was a kid, and listening to those others, turned me off musicals.

One I did really like, which I had forgotten about, is Cabaret. Loved it.  

You're the only other person I know who's seen Secret Window!  I thought it was quite good too.  

Yes, my sort of movie and he really showed his versatility in that, but then doing Willy bloody Wonka. I saw about 30 seconds of it, and that was enough for me.

Yes, 'versatility' is one thing, but doing something that makes you look like a paedophile probably isn't the best career move as an actor.
