And heres me getting very nervous now, been looking at some others  :dunno:

I really don't think they would ship a high quality CPU with a crap heatsink.

Not to be argumentative, but I still think the supplied heatsink is perfectly adequate for the job, or they wouldn't supply it.  Mine is not overly noisy either, in fact, compared to my old PC, I hardly notice it's on most of the time!  I actually think the case fans make more noise than the CPU fan.  :)

This is probably way beyond your requirements, David, but there's a good offer on a graphics card here:

I think I would be better off with this type of thing Simon as I dont want to have to upgrade the ting once its built.price is good, and the realbonus coud be that monitor I was looking at a Samsung yesterday but the one Im looking at has a DVI and as this pc has thi I would be mad not to  use it......I think

Most graphics cards have DVI now, David.  That one appears to be HD ready as well!  I was just a bit concerned, reading some of the comments in the reviews, about it possibly requiring a secondary heatsink, but unless you're going to be using it for graphics intensive games, it may not be a problem for you.  Have to say, at that price, I would probably have bought it for myself, had I needed to upgrade.

No Simon you know me I have no interest in games I am making a list of what I require,so I can build what I want to my needs and not get a load of so called "Free" stuff which I will never use.

I want speed
I would use it for minimal web browsing,Email and word processing.
I would like to build it so it is capable for use for photos and may be video editing
Music if its possible would like a good sound but it has not got to be any better than I have at present so it isnt a demanding list.
I would like it to be upgradeable for future developments saving me from having to build again so the motherboard etc would need to be (not old stuff which is likely to be incapable of new things) if this makes sense.
Im off to take a look around Maplins in a while to get an idea and allow me to see the stuff rather than pics,They have a lot of stock in cabinets which will give me an idea of scale of things.

I don't think any of the components we have discussed so far are overly extravagant, David.  OTOH, if you're looking at mid-high range, you don't want to possibly risk holding the system back by using one or more weaker components, so a good graphics card is probably one of the more essential purchases.  :)

It's a very cheap looking motherboard - see here.  Not sure I'd go for that, David.
