Firefox launches add-on service
« on: November 19, 2008, 18:46 »
Mozilla has launched a new application to help you customise the Firefox browser based on your interests.

Called Fashion Your Firefox, the new add-on service enables you to organise your interests into different categories as you surf or work online.

Categories in Fashion Your Firefox include Shutterbug, for viewing and sharing pictures and videos online, Rock Star for listening to music and News Junkie, which delivers the most up-to-date news and weather while you surf.

Other categories include add-ons for shopping, bookmarking, browsing blogs and organising content.

Add-ons, accessible from the Firefox homepage, offer extra features and functionality to browsing so that you can personalise your browsing experience.

"One of the best parts about Firefox is the amazing richness of our 5,000-plus free add-ons," said Mike Shaver, vice president of engineering at Mozilla.

According to Mozilla, the not-for profit company that runs Firefox, there have been more than one billion downloads of Firefox add-ons to date.

Not a fan of too many add-ons, as sooner or later, they start to mess things up.
Many thanks to all our members, who have made PC Pals such an outstanding success!   :thumb:
