Sky offers TV online for all
« on: December 05, 2008, 17:59 »
Sky is opening up its Sky Player service to all UK surfers, even if they aren't existing Sky TV customers.

Until the end of January, Sky is offering the Base Entertainment Pack which includes Sky News, as well as the Disney Channel, National Geographic and British Eurosport, for £7.50 a month.

For £22 a month, you can get the same channels as well as Sky Sports Xtra and either Sky Sports 1 or Sky Sports 2. For £34 a month, you can get the Base Entertainment Pack and all four of the Sky Sports channels.

However, the service, which is called Sky Player TV, will not offer Sky 1, Sky 2 or Sky 3. Prices will go up to anyone signing up after 31 January.

Griff Parry, director of On-demand at BSkyB said: "We believe in giving customers the control and flexibility to access the best in live entertainment and on demand content to fit with their lifestyles.

"Sky Player TV gives customers access to enjoy up to nine different live channels from today with more coming in the new year," he continued.

Earlier this week it was reported that Sky was planning to increase bills for its broadband customers who are not signed up to the Sky Talk telephone package as well.
