Hi everyone.
I managed to pick up an old PC at a fair for a tenner, which I have used to replace my old 486 that my son uses to type his homework on. It is a Pentium 200 MMX with 32mg RAM, There are two minor problems which I need to look at.
First, when PC starts, the clock shows the (approximate) time that he switched it off the previous day. I suspect I just need to change the battery on the motherboard. The second fault is slightly more complicated. As I said earlier. the processor is a Pentium 200 MMX. If I go into the CMOS, it shows it to be runn ing at 200mhz. However, when the thing is booting, it shows it to be running at 150mhz. Could anyone tell me why this should be, how to check exactly what speed it is running at, and how to rectify it if it's running too slow?
Thanks.
