I still can't get used to her voice.

Dislike or what? I think she's great, together with Corrine Bailey Rae and Madeleine Peyroux.

She has a rather unusual timbre (?), which I don't find pleasurable to listen to.

Did you like Maria Maldaur? She's similar in many ways, I feel.

Can't say I've heard her.  I like Eva Cassidy, Kate Rusby, Allison Krauss.

She was a bit of a one hit wonder, Midnight at the oasis.

Oh yeah.  Not my sort of thing.

I loved that track, and her voice. How about Amy then?

Bit out of my 'time', and a bit too folky for me.

Have you tried the recordings she did with Nelson Riddle? Classic ballads, great orchestration and a whole new side to her voice.

No, it's not the sort of thing I would have gone for, Rik, but I'll see what I can find to download.  I have a feeling it might be a bit too MOR for me.
