Keyboard problem

Hello Pal Skywalkers,


Yet again I call on you for assistance to protect me from the dark side (windows :devil:).

The new menace goes under the name of ‘Darth Vista’ :bawl:

I’ve just bought a Fujitsu-Siemens V5535 Intergalactic laptop - preinstalled with ‘Darth Vista’ - and upon booting it for the first time I had to choose the os language, English. It’s possible that I then chose the English keyboard layout - oops! – it’s a reduced laptop keyboard, so now the keys don’t show what they should. I’ve tried Br English and Am English and various Spanish options, but the menace won’t go away.

The keyboard is a Spanish one, it has the letter ñ for example, that’s the only real difference.

Please help me Obi-Wan. Your my only hope!

I'll have to check on my Vista machine, but I think, if you go to Control Panel, select Classic View on the left hand side, there should be a Keyboard applet, where you can change the settings.

Hello Simon,

Sorted it.

The problem is that the default language is English and the Keyboard is Spanish. There isn't much of a difference but when I use 'word' the laptop wants to use the complete English keyboard configuration on a reduced keyboard. Windows only configures language changes on 'complete' keyboards.

A curious problem that I don't think has ever really been addressed.

I now have a bar at the top of the screen to change over to Spanish.
