Just upgraded my xp with a vista pack £65 and it solved a lot of issues with that machine after a clean install,the sound was bugg££ed but a new sound card cured that for a modest outlay

I've been using vista since i got my quadcore machine built. Aside from a few driver conflicts it works pretty good. I just had to disable UAC and put the run button back into the start menu and it feels pretty much like xp. There are a few differences, but for the most part there aren't really many that matter.
