Photographers all over the world are invited to take part in a special online project and submit photos taken at 4am on 4 April.
The 4amproject is free to join and all people are asked to do is to take a photo of what they see on that day at that moment.
The idea was thought up by Karen Strunks, a freelance photographer based in Birmingham. Strunks first started taking late night/early morning photos about a year ago.
She said she was struck by how deserted the city was and started taking photos and uploading them to her blog.
She now aims to take a global snapshot through the collaborative 4amproject.
Strunks said that the photo can be of anything: "A self portrait, the room you're in, the view from your window. Perhaps you want to venture out a bit further, maybe you'll be travelling, or at work."
Photographers have already started submitting photos on the 4amproject website. You can submit photos via the media-sharing website Flickr, which is free to join.
