I have spent most of the weekend running scans, as my computer has been freezing every few seconds.
I ran Avast, which took most of friday night, and as it stops every time it finds a virus or trojan and asks what you would like to do with it (having the flu, no pig jokes please, and not wanting to get off the lounge...) the suggestion I had wasn't included in the options. Three options, delete, move to vault (my personal favourite), or rename and move. I had to press move to vault several times before it would oblige, this scan took forever, I left it going and went to bed. The next day I discovered that trying to move these viruses and trojans to the vault, failed as an error occurred, So I had to run the scan again, this time I renamed and moved. I also ran Malwarebytes, it seemed to have the same alert when it discovered something amiss.
Last time I ran Hijackthis, I had two of these entries,
O10 - Unknown file in Winsock LSP: c:\windows\system32\securenet.dll
Very safe Check your hard disc drive with Spybot S&D from Kolla.de or LSPFix from Cexx.org. This entry should not be fixed! Your best bet to repair it is to try the LSPFix from Cexx.org.
From what I've read, these files became damaged by anti-virus software removing infected files, or something along those lines.
After the weekend from hell, I mean, of scanning, I now have three damaged Winsock files.
I was going to ask Michael to fix it for me, but after he did a superb job of crashing his computer, I thought I'd ask the geniuses on the forum, if there is an easy way of fixing this.
