If you use a wireless keyboard you may be better off switching to a wired keyboard in order to protect your passwords and other sensitive information.
According to security firm Symantec, a new open-source 'sniffer' project has publically released code that could allow a cybercriminal to decode signals sent wirelessly between keyboard and PC.
The project claims to have been set up to let surfers examine how secure their own hardware is, though Symantec said it was likely to be exploited by criminals.
"It would mean that someone would be able to remotely capture every keystroke made without having to install anything onto the system and capture personal, sensitive information such as passwords and bank details," Symantec said in a statement.
The company "strongly recommends returning to wired keyboards in the office and public places to avoid making your critical data vulnerable."
