Creating a SP3 CD?
« on: July 08, 2009, 06:25 »
I need to create a few XP SP3 discs. And being a genius with software  :bawl: I need some help.

I have SP3 on a flash drive and I have the CDs, but that's as far as I've been able to get.

Michael is away, and I need to do this fairly soonish.

Hi Kate, welcome back!

Someone may be able to explain this more simply, but there's a method called 'slipstreaming', which is outlined here:

Hi Simon, it's nice to be back on the internet.

But not so nice to be back in full on winter. I was enjoying temps in the high teens, now I'm back to below 10, if we are lucky.  :bawl:

Thanks for the Link...  :stars:

All I need is SP3 on a CD so a friend can update from SP2 straight from a CD.  :o:

Use Nero Express and select the Make a Data CD option.
Its probably safer to copy the stuff from your flash drive to a folder on your hard drive but it should still work straight off your flash drive, as long as its USB 2 and not USB 1.
If you tell Nero to make however many CDs you want then after its burned the first one it will eject the CD and ask for another blank until its made all the copies that you want.

I think thats what you have been asking how to do it  :)

Thanks Sandra, it's just what the doctor ordered.  :)

Not sure about the USB 1 and 2 bit though, so I will stick on my hard drive somewhere.

I had no idea that Oz ever got lower than 20C.  No, seriously!  :dunno:

It's certainly the impression one gets, Clive, and I wouldn't last a year out there in the heat, although, a winter where it doesn't go below freezing would suit me fine.  :)

It does get pretty cold up here.

I had to laugh the other day when it was reported that London was in the middle of a heatwave. I commented to my mother that it must be above 20c. It fairness, I think it was 33, which is a normal summers day here.  :)x

Personally, I hate the heat, but after a couple of weeks in a warmer climate, I'm beginning to dislike the cold as well.  :(
