Firefox users have been advised to update their browser following the release of two security patches from Mozilla.
"We strongly recommend that all Firefox users upgrade to this latest release," Mozilla said in a blog posting.
The patches are available for two versions of Firefox - 3.5.2 and 3.0.13 - and address two 'critical' security holes.
The first hole could let an attacker run malicious code on a person's computer, while the second flaw could potentially let a hacker gain access to encrypted information or issue a bogus update to Firefox.
Mozilla said that anyone using Firefox 3.5 or Firefox 3 will receive an automated message to update within 24 to 48 hours.
Alternatively, you can apply the update manually by clicking on "Check for Updates…" in the Help menu.
Last week Firefox broke through the billionth download barrier. Figures suggest that the open-source browser now has nearly one-third of the browser market worldwide.
