How exactly are Macs 'immune' from viruses and trojans? Is it just because no one has bothered to target them?

I think so Simon. But MacOS updates every time you turn it on - or so it claims. I have no protection whatsover on it.

it also helps that they have proper port management and by default everything isn't open...

yes... but the point is most people dont have a router.

Umm... don't they? I would have thought, with broadband, most people now do have a router.

you don't need to - most allow you to connect straight to the modem. I guess as people have gone more an more wifi then you might be right.
