Unconfirmed rumours that Google is going to launch its Chrome OS next week are circulating on the web.
Several technology news websites are reporting that Google will unveil the Chrome OS next week.
TechCrunch reports that it has heard from a reliable source that it will be "available to download within a week".
Chrome OS is an operating system aimed at netbook-type devices, though Google has released very little information about it so far.
But before anyone gets too excited, Chrome OS rumours have been found to be false before.
Just last month, reports that Google was set to announce the open-source operating system turned out to be wrong – the company said it was simply holding an event for potential employees where the Chrome browser, not the Chrome OS, was being discussed.
A Google spokesman said: "We don't comment on rumour or speculation."
