Topic: Almost full c:drive

Hi, hope someone can help.

My daughter has an Acer 5315 laptop using Vista basic.

It has two internal drives c: 40Gb and d: also 40 Gb.

The C: drive is says its almost full but going thru the folders/files I can only find approx 24Gb including 16Gb for Vista. I have set it to show hidden files.

Any ideas what is clogging up this drive?

Hi Mike,

Someone will be along to help soon, but in the meantime, have you cleared out the temp files and recycle bin?

Yes, and carried out a disc cleanup etc.

There's a handy free little program called SequoiaView which will give you a pictorial representation of just what is on the HDD.

Check for memory dumps, hyberfil.sis and the size of the page file, Mike.

will the drives just be ONE drive with TWO partitions. My wifes is like that.Vista is on C I think and all data on D
