Outlook email formatting
« on: November 19, 2009, 17:48 »
When I send an email in Outlook 2007 (I believe it uses Word as the email editor) my paragraphs are always nicely spaced, but when people reply my original paragraphs are double spaced apart if not more. They're really spread out and look horrible.

I'm not sure if the receiver actually sees them like that of it it is reformatted when they hit a reply to me? (I haven't asked). But I wondered if any of you have come across this before and if there is anything I can do on my end? I don't do a lot of formatting but I would like to use full html rather than plain text.

Hi TG, nice to see you.

How do your emails look if you check in the Sent folder?  Is it from all recipients that the formatting is wrong n replies?

Everything is fine in the sent folder. It must be happening on the other end. I just haven't found out if they view it like that or if their reader automatcially creates the extra space between paragraphs on replies, like for them to comment, akin to readers that put in the > symbol on each line.

Is this going through an MS Exchange server?

don't think so. I have access to my 'cpanel' and however it's set up through there. I use pop3. I've no clue about how it all works though

Have you switched from using Word as your editor?

Have you tried sending a copy of the email to yourself, and see if it, affected in the same way?

So obvious Simon!

it does seem to be other people replies automatically putting in the extra space. I assume for automatcially for commenting between paragraphs.

I usually see this if they're using an MS Exchange server.
